Websites. Email. Two things you probably couldn’t live without in today’s age. You need a website that works well, looks good, and tells people about you. And your email shouldn’t complicate your life—it should simplify it. I want to help you get there.
If you don’t currently have a website and want to get something set up, I’m your man. It’s remarkably quick and easy to get a simple site set up, giving visitors information about you and giving them the means to get in touch with you. Whether you’re a freelancer or the president of a large company, I can help you make your presence known on the web.
For a basic site using a standard template, I charge $200 for the initial setup and $50 for each page you want. If you’re looking for a bit more of a customized design, I have had great results from both Maestra Web Design and denzen design. In that case, I only charge $75 for the initial setup, and the designer takes over from there.
In order to get your website up and running, you need to get what’s called “web hosting” set up. This is what makes it possible for visitors to type in an address and get to your website. There are two main components to hosting a website—the hosting itself, and a domain name.
Domain names are what identify you on the web. For example, the domain name of this site is techietenor.com. My personal site, on the other hand, is andrewhaji.com. Your domain name tells the world who you are and what you do, and it’s one of the most important decisions you’ll make when getting a website started. The beautiful thing about domain names is that they’re relatively cheap—about $20/year—so you’re free to choose more than one, if you like. Many people get domain.com and domain.ca if they want to appeal to a Canadian audience.
For the hosting itself, my current promotional price is only $5/month—this is on par with some of the cheapest web hosts out there. I don’t place any hard limits on storage space or data transfer, either, so you are free to do what you want with your little slice of the web.
When you register a domain name, such as mydomain.ca, you are able to get email services set up under that domain. For example, you can have an email address like firstname.lastname@example.org. You can have as many email addresses as you want, and there’s absolutely no charge at all.
If you already have one (or more) email addresses, we can consolidate them so that you only need to check one account instead of 10. You’d be surprised how much having all your email in one place can improve your life.
I consider myself a full-service web host, so I gear my services towards people who don’t want to have to mess around with settings themselves. I’ll do all the work for you and just make things work. And if you ever have any trouble with the website or with your email accounts, I’m always available for tech support.
Depending on what services you request, I may charge my usual hourly rate ($50/hour) for setup and configuration. I will let you know beforehand if my hourly rate will apply.
